The development of AgroRecursos is the result of a collaborative effort by a coalition of eight organizations: AgroInnova, Colmena 66, Espacios Abiertos, Hispanic Federation Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico Science, Technology & Research Trust, Para la Naturaleza, TechnoServe, and the Peter Alfond Foundation. This multisectoral alliance reflects a shared commitment to Puerto Rico’s food security and seeks to strengthen local production through the coordination of resources, knowledge, and strategic actions.
AgroRecursos: Access to Key Information
The platform centralizes and facilitates vital information for agricultural development in Puerto Rico, including:
- Updated price guides to support better decision-making in production and commercialization.
- Contact directories that strengthen the network of agricultural stakeholders by connecting producers, suppliers, and buyers.
- Financing opportunities that promote investment and the growth of agricultural projects.
With these resources, AgroRecursos contributes to the creation of a more informed and better-connected agri-food ecosystem.
A Step Toward Food Security
Puerto Rico continues to face the ongoing challenge of relying heavily on imports to meet its food needs. In this context, AgroRecursos represents a concrete step toward advancing food security. Access to reliable data and planning tools enhances local production capacity, mitigates vulnerabilities, and promotes the country’s self-sufficiency.
As part of its mission to promote transparency, access to information, and civic empowerment, Espacios Abiertos joins AgroRecursos as an ally. We firmly believe that local food production and access, backed by data and transparency, are essential to achieving a more just, equitable, and sustainable Puerto Rico.

AgroRecursos is designed as a dynamic platform that will continue to grow and adapt. New functionalities and data will be added to address the evolving needs of the agri-food sector, solidifying it as a trusted reference point for producers, suppliers, and communities dedicated to food security.
We invite farmers, agricultural organizations, institutions, and interested citizens to explore AgroRecursos at www.agrorecursos.com. With this tool, we take another step toward building a stronger, fairer food system that is less dependent on imports.
