Let us remind elected officials and other public officials that participation is an element of democracy and that public power comes from the people. This is reflected in the preamble of the Constitution of Puerto Rico when it states:
...
That the democratic system is essential for the life of the Puerto Rican community;
That we understand by democratic system that where the will of the people is the source of public power, where the political order is subordinated to the rights of man and where the free participation of the citizen in collective decisions is ensured;

Advocacy School
In 2018, in alliance with the Smart Citizen Foundation for the first time in Puerto Rico we carried out the Advocacy School, a project to promote the collaborative leadership of new generations to achieve social changes through advocacy in policies through the methodology of LabCívic. This tool makes it possible to identify specific public problems and map key agents to generate a collaborative and multisectoral work plan that allows progress towards their solution. In 2021, thanks to the support of the Angel Ramos Foundation, we joined the NGO for nature to create an Advocacy School focused on environmental issues and climate change.

Access to citizen participation in the Recovery Plan
The demand for transparency, for an open government, for accountability, does not occur in a vacuum, but within the framework of the citizen's exercise of knowing and participating in the decisions that affect us. And sometimes when people are not given that opportunity, the courts can be the instrument that offers that access.

Claim for access to Fiscal Plan information
The Debt Sustainability Analysis (DSA) is a study that is paid for with public funds and is used to determine how much, realistically, Puerto Rico can or cannot pay on its public debt. Based on this analysis, assumptions can be made about how the available resources will be used to comply with all public obligations, determining our future for the next five years.

Right to have rights
Since you cannot defend what you don't know, we are committed to collaborating so that each person in this country knows their rights and those of their communities and can defend them. 'Rights. Are yours. Defend them.' is a series of 7 videos and complementary materials that we dedicate to the education of some universal human rights and constitutional rights of Puerto Rico.
Right to have rights
The idea that people have the right to have rights is attributed to Hannah Arendt, a German philosopher who is considered one of the leading intellectuals of the 20th century.
